Vineyard Gulch Resources LLC is a privately owned gold exploration company based near Gibbonsville Idaho. We hold 67 lode claims and one mill site claim in the North Fork District of the Salmon National Forest. These claims are in two separate locations.

We sit upon what is described as the Trans-Challis Fault Zone. This Zone runs from southwestern Idaho, into west central Montana. The Trans-Challis Fault Zone contains dozens of historical, as well as present producing mines, such as:

  • Present: Thompson Creek Metals, molybdenum mine near Clayton,Idaho
  • Present: Montana Resources mine at Butte, Montana.
  • Recent: Meridian Minerals Beartrack Mine, southwest of Salmon, Idaho.
  • Historical: The historical production from nearby Gibbonsville, Idaho is estimated at 50,000 oz. of gold, mostly from underground operations.

Moon Claim Block

Our Moon claim block, 1 mile west of Gibbonsville, covers a 1.2 mile gold trend outlined by a soil sample survey, as well as by numerous whole rock samples, and two underground adits totaling nearly 2,000 ft. of tunnels and drifts.

The most recent work was done in May and October of 2007, and consisted of 650 linear feet of trenching in four separate trenches and excavations, perpendicular to the trend, in Johnson Gulch, as well as 4 smaller pits in Friedorf Gulch.

Samples were taken mostly from an excavator bucket, in Johnson Gulch, as wall conditions did not permit human entry to the trenches.

Of 67 samples taken:

  • 22 showed above 100ppb Au readings.
  • The highest was 14.30ppm Au across 30ft, with a four foot width reading 18.85ppm Au.

These samples were taken from a shallow five foot deep trench which cut across a quartz vein. and samples were cut from the wall and floor! Assays were sent to ALS Chemex Labs for analysis.

Additional assays run by ALS Chemex Labs show wide variables in Au values across the board. Such as, the 30 foot width goes up to 21.5ppm, while the four foot width goes down to 15.10ppm, in second assays run on the same sample. The biggest value swing came on a sample that assayed .24ppm, the first time, and then ran 4.14ppm the second time. So, there is a lot of free gold in this rock. Panned samples almost always yield visible gold

Projections:

With the completed trenching program, we expect to be able to demonstrate a contiguous system of relatively high grade gold/silver and copper mineralization, in vault controlled veins, with occasional blow outs into more disseminated zones, covering more than a mile and one quarter.

Results:

Every sample taken was above detection limits in Ag, Bi, Cu, Sb and Hg. The highest Ag reading was 229 ppm, while the highest Cu was 2.52%.

The Oct. '07 trenching was completed and photos, as well as assay results are visible under the Moon Claim Box above. Two high grade gold sampled historical Adits/Discovery Pits, were not excavated, due to time restrictions in permitting. These two sites are both located over 2000 ft. west of the excavated pit in Friedorf Gulch, towards Granite Mtn. They are more than 800 ft. apart from one another, on strike, and have returned several grab samples of 13 and 14 ppms Au! One caved in adit, is on the contact with the granite, of Granite Mtn.  The rock excavated in both Johnson Gulch and Vineyard Gulch, is geochemically the same. This lends heavy credence to this being a contiguous system of high grade gold veins, worthy of closer investigations

Proven Deposits

We also hold sliver and edges claims within a proven 600,000 ounce Au. deposit which sits primarily on patented property.

This figure was calculated upon a gold price of $340 an ounce, in 1995! With the current gold price per ounce around $870, the amount of recoverable gold rises to between 1.1 to 1.2 million ounces.

One claim covers about 1300 hundred feet in length, and between 200 and 300 feet in width over the top of the proposed open pit.

Approximately 400 acres of the  patented property is owned by Yamana Gold Corp. They acquired it in their purchase of Meridian Gold Co. last year! The other approximately 95 acres, is owned by Mr. Joe Proksch of Salmon Idaho.

Kopyrkyute Claim Block

Our Kopyrkyute Claim Block, is located about five miles north of the Moon Claims in the Pierce Creek drainage. It adjoins the Montana border for approximately 2 miles. Mapping, limited geophysics, as well as very limited drilling, plus soil sampling has been done there.

Projections:

A small localized soil sampling program was carried out in July along a road, in the center of a mag high. Sampling was done at 20 foot intervals over a length of nearly 700 feet. These samples compliment and bolster previous samples that point to a very large, Co: Cr: Cu: Ni anomaly. One whole rock sample, taken from a ledge within this anomaly, ran .93 ppm AU: 4.16 ppm AG: 18 ppm BI: 2340 ppm CU: 21.50 ppm MO: 7.49 ppm SB: and 8.54 ppm TE.

An Operating Plan to dig pits at 20 foot intervals was approved by the US Forest Service in early summer 2008. but has not been started.

Numerous historical workings dot the claim area, with one open adit and one open pit, from which ore was shipped to the Anaconda smelter in 1977-78. For more info, see Pierce Creek Property Report/Kopyrkyute.

Samples:

Numerous grab samples as well as drill core has run as high as 2.92%Cu.

Investment Opportunity

The partnership of Vineyard Gulch Resources LLC is offering an investment opportunity to interested parties to become a 25% owner in the Company, in return for the sum of $2 million dollars. This sum will enable the Company to move forward with an ambitious program of geophysical surveys in the form of detailed magnetometer surveys, to identify detailed drill targets in Johnson Gulch. The Company has an approved drill program in Johnson Gulch for next spring on 11 drill sites. The geophysical surveys and subsequent drilling will further identify and quantify, structures revealed by last summers trench and pit excavations. Ownership for this sum received, will be given by Quitclaim Deed. Click on the Contact Box above left, to reach the Managing Partner. more...
